Michael Walsh, 76 years old, died at his country home south of town Saturday morning at 7 o'clock. He was taken seriously ill about 5 o'clock the evening before with chronic kidney trouble which, superinduced by the intense heat of the past week, and his age, was the cause of his death. Mr. Walsh was born in Kilkenny, Ireland, and came to this country with his parents at the age of 14 years and settled on a farm near Madison, Wisconsin. The family lived there but a short time when they moved to Iowa and settled on the farm which has since been his home. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Bergin, to which union four daughters and six sons were born, all living, with the exception of Mary Agnes, whose death was chronicled last week. The deceased was a kind man, a good and upright citizen and neighbor, and the sympathy of the whole community is extended to the sorrowing wife, sons and daughters in their bereavement. The funeral took place from St. Kierans Church Monday forenoon, Rev. Father Burke officiating. The remains were laid to rest by the side of the daughter who preceded him, by only a few days, to the Great Beyond.-
