Troy Gavin Troge, 59, of Ossian, Iowa died Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his home in Ossian. Troy Troge was born November 8, 1961 in Decorah, IA, to Duane and Gretchen (Kittelson) Troge.

Troy was united in marriage with Renea Dietz of Nashua. They were blessed with one son, Kyle Gavin. Troy was a master of all trades; there wasn’t anything he couldn’t work on or figure out how to fix. His interests included wheeling & dealing, going to auctions, collecting antique items, and he enjoyed doing lawn care. He was known for his love of driving and didn’t use the road as most of us do, he used fence line to fence line.

Troy also had a passion and deep love for animals, through the years he did all he could do to save many, this included a special bond with his squirrel named Chester and his family of kitties that he cared for over these last years.

Troy was preceded in death by his father, Duane Troge, and his grandparents, Gavin and Ethel Kittelson and Fred and Elsie Troge.

Troy is survived by his son, Kyle Troge of Nashua, Iowa; mother, Gretchen (Darrell Bruening) Troge of Decorah, Iowa; his sister, Tracy (Dean) Barth of Decorah, Iowa; two-nieces, Jacinda (Cody) Imoehl of Ossian, Iowa and Jania (Garret Ohloff) Barth of Castalia, Iowa; and one great-niece, Remi Imoehl (Jacinda and Cody).

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be Monday, May 24, 2021 from 4-7 pm at Wild Woods Event Center, Ossian, Iowa.

A private burial will be on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 2:00 at Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City, Iowa.
