Grandpa John Goth died at his home here on our National holiday, morning of July 4th, at the advanced age of nearly 87 years. Funeral services were held by his pastor, A. F. Damerow, of the Decorah German M. E. Church, on Thursday afternoon. He had been a faithful member for many years. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Sept. 29, 1827 and is buried in the Butz German Cemetery.
