A telegram from the coroner’s jury at Minneapolis, last Saturday, to W.H. Oxley asking what disposition should be made with the body of David E. Oxley, his son, was the first intelligence the family had of his death. The facts regarding his death are these: While going to the depot in Minnepolis, about noon last Saturday, he offered to direct a fellow laborer to an address with which he was familiar. As they had about reached the place, in some manner he suddenly fell from the wagon on which he was riding and sustained internal injuries from which he died in a few moments, without regaining consciousness. For some time prior to his death he had been employed in Minneapolis. David E. Oxley, fifth son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Oxley, was born in Winnesheik county, Iowa, January 29th, 1872, and died in Minneapolis, October 14th, 1893, aged 21 years, 8 months and 15 days. His body was brought home, and the funeral occurred from the Centennial Church yesterday, (Oct. 7th) a large concourse of people attending. Rev. D. Miller of the U. B. church officiated. The deceased was of a kind and genial spirit, which won him friends wherever he went, and his loss will be deeply felt by the family and his wide circle of friends, who mourn his untimely death.
