Funeral Services Held at Hesper For Iver Flak, 83

Iver Flak, long-time Hesper area resident, died at his farm home Thursday, Sept. 5 at the age of 83. A native of Bungsund, Norway, Mr. Flak was born March 24, 1891. He came to America at the age of 18 and settled in the Hesper community where he had been a farmer and a carpenter.
He was a veteran of World War I, and after his return from service, he married the former Alisa Salveson.
He is survived by two sons, Justin Flak of Sacred Heart, Minn. and Curtis Flak of Hesper, eight grandchildren and one sister.
Mr. Flak was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Everene Greten Flak; his wife; two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 9 at the Hesper Lutheran Church, where he was a member, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bernard Polansky conducted final rites. Arrangements were made by Mengis Funeral Home.
