Alfred A. Lukken, lifelong farmer of the area, died Thursday, March 9 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital at the age of 76. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 11 at Hauge Lutheran Church with burial in the Hauge church cemetery.
Pastor Dell Olson conducted the services. Pallbearers were Helmer Peterson, Siglief Swenson, Harry Haugen, Raymond Fadness and Truman Myrah. Hymns were sung by the congregation accompanied at the organ by Mrs. D.D. Thogerson. Funeral arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home.
Alfred Lukken was born April 28, 1895 in Waterloo Township, Allamakee County, where he attended rural schools. He served in World War I in the United States Army and was stationed at Camp Gordon, Atlanta. Ga.
Mr. Lukken never married. He is survived by two brothers, Thorsten Lukken, Decorah, and Melvin Lukken, Minneapolis, and a sister, Mrs. Ingvald Myrah, Decorah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Christine Thompson Lukken.
