Janice M. Cronin, 80, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Thursday March 4, 2021. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 12, at the St. Francis of Assisi - St. Henry Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday March 11, 2021 at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown with a Vigil service starting at 7 p.m.

Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown. Online condolences may be sent to[https://www.andersonfhs.com.%3Cbr%20/%3E]www.andersonfhs.com.

Janice was born to Frank and Ellen (Beck) Cronin on Sept. 28, 1940 in Decorah, in her parents home. She was raised in Decorah attending St. Benedict's Catholic School. Graduating from DeSales High School in 1959, Janice attended business School in Omaha, Neb.; before moving to New York for one year to work in a business office. She returned to Decorah before moving to Marshalltown in 1965 with her sister Eleanor Moody making Marshalltown their home.

Janice worked for St. Henry's Church for several years until 1984. When she was then, hired by the Iowa Veterans Home in the linen room until retiring in 2003. Mother was more than just a mother, she was also our father, our best friend. She worked vigorously to provide for her family all through her years. She loved dearly and will be missed greatly for years to come.

Janice is survived by her six children; Michael (Trudy) Cronin, James Cronin, Julie Anderson, Donna Cronin, Karla Eslinger and Rhonda Cronin; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; two loving nieces that she cherished like daughters, Joyce "Jack" Tompkins, Debra Cronin; one brother; Robert (Ila) Cronin of Waterloo; two sister in laws; Sally Cronin of Omaha, Angene Cronin of Waterloo; as well as many nieces and nephews, along with her best friend for life Sue Ferris. She is preceded in death by her grand children, Kenneth and Cassie Anderson, her parents Frank and Ellen Cronin; Siblings Grace (Norman) Vikre, Eleanor Moody, Patsy (David) Graham, Gladys (Allyn) Mincks, Marjorie (Leslie) Mincks, Joseph Cronin and Francis Cronin.
