Burned to Death While at Play.
Spring Grove Herald:—The little four-year-old daughter of Nels G. Husemoen, who lives three and one-half miles southwest of this village, was severely burned Friday. She was at play about the yard where some rubbish was being burned, and in some manner her clothes came in contact with the fire, immediately igniting and burning with such rapidity that her back and lower limbs were almost a veritable crisp before Mrs. Husemoen could extinguish the flames. The injuries received were most painful and fatal, death relieving the child Sunday from the intense suffering that followed the sad affair. Mrs. Husemoen had her hands burned quite severely while endeavoring to save her child from the terrible fate of being burned to death.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows Martha, a daughter of Nels Husemoen died April 29, 1895; however it shows she was only 9 mos. old (probably an error). She is buried in Norwegian Ridge Cemetery in Spring Grove, MN.
