OBITUARY.

MRS. AMELIA PACKARD, after being confined to her bed for about five weeks, died March 25th, 1895, aged 61 years. 11 months and 11 days. Her maiden name was Amelia Doty, and she was born April 14th, 1833, in Malone, Franklin Co., N. Y. There she was joined in marriage to Mr. Lafayette Packard, May 26th, l853. From New York they moved to Frankville in November, 1856. Here, with her husband, she united with the Presbyterian church on profession of her faith in Christ, Oct. 4th, 1881, and has been a faithful and consistent member of the same until death. She was the mother of nine children, five surviving her—three sons and two daughters, who, with the husband, three sisters and a brother, are left to mourn her loss. She has been a long and patient sufferer, having lost the use of her feet through rheumatic troubles about six years ago. Yet she has been able much of the time through the use of a wheel chair to attend her household duties. Notwithstanding her physical infirmities she manifested the cheerful disposition of a faithful wife and mother.

Transcriber’s Her gravestone in the Frankville Cemetery shows her name as Emily A. Find a Grave shows Emma Amelia “Emily”.
