Annie Daley, a bright and amiable young lady, who was born and raised here, it transpires, died of typhoid fever at Montezuma, Iowa, in February last. Annie was an accomplished stenographer and type-writer, and when last heard from by her mother, here, had a lucrative position in Des Moines. At Montezuma, she was working in a hotel at the time of her decease, and was going under an assumed name, hence her people knew nothing of her sickness and death until long after she was buried, when an examination of the dead girl's effects led to her identity, and her sad death was brought to the knowledge of her family about three weeks after it occurred. Thomas Daley, a brother, on receipt of the news, went at once to montezuma, and from an examination of the personal effects of the dead young woman, knew at once that it was his sister who had departed. The body will be taken up and brought to Calmer for reinterment, in the near future.
