Death of Wm. M. Fannon.
Neligh, Neb., papers received at this office bring intelligence that William M. Fannon died at his home in that town on the 3d inst., after a protracted illness resulting from dropsy and heart trouble, in the 71st year of his age. Mr. Fannon was born in Worth Co., Va., March 17, 1826 and his most active years were spent in this county. In 1881, after completing his service to the county as Recorder of Deeds he removed to Nebraska, and from the character of the obituaries given we learn that he there maintained the walk of a good citizen and earnest Christian which he sustained while living in Winneshiek county. His wife, two sons and one daughter (Mrs. Rankin) survive him.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh, NB; however, it shows he was born in 1835.
