SILENT REAPER.
MRS. N. C. EARL.
On Thusday last at the residence of J. H. Mackenstadt in West Decorah, Mrs. Eliza Stevens Earl, wife of N. C. Earl, of Fulton, S. D., died after a painful illness from cancer of the breast. Mrs. Earl, was born in Elgin, Ill., May 15th, 1842, and came to Decorah in 1860. In 1863 she was married to N. C. Earl, then a resident of Decorah, They continued to reside here until 1879 when they went to Sioux Falls. After a residence there of about a year they removed to their present home in Fulton. Realizing that her days were but few she desired to come back to Decorah to spend them, and though the undertaking was a dangerous one in her condition she arrived here on Tuesday of last week, but she was so exhausted that death claimed her two days later. She was accompanied by her son George and Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Beebe, of Mitchell. The funeral services were held Friday last, Rev. James officiating. Mrs. Earl was a sister of Mrs. Mackenstadt and Fred Stevens, of this city. Besides these she leaves her husband and two sons to mourn her loss.
