Sudden Death at Highland.
Mr. Halvor Bersie, of Highland township, died suddenly Tuesday morning. He was out in the rain one day last week, caught cold, inflammatory rheumatism set in, and death resulted from the disease settling at his heart. Mr. Bersie is the eldest son of one of the oldest families in that township. Besides owning a magnificent farm of over 340 acres, he was part proprietor of the Mabel Creamery, and one of the hardware firm of Bersie & Lien, in Mabel. He was aged about 44 years and a man of high character. His wife and eight children survive him.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Dec. 25, 1851 and died May 26, 1896. He is buried in Hesper Lutheran Cemetery.
