—The remains of Miss Bertha{sic} Kessey, daughter of Mrs. and the late Nels Kessey, aged 13 years, were brought to Decorah for burial beside her father, last Saturday. Death resulted from quick consumption, the beginning of which was first noticed last summer. Mrs. Kessey was too ill to accompany the remains, and they were brought here from Sioux Falls by Mrs. Norgard and Mr. Julius Johnson, uncle and aunt of the deceased. This death adds another affliction to an already stricken and sore heart, and the mother has the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends.

Transcriber’s Note: Phelps Cemetery shows the name as Beatha and that she was born July 27, 1882 and died Feb. 26, 1896.
