WORK OF THE REAPER.
He Gathers to Their Long Home an Unusual Harvest.
Death has been busy during the past week, and has taken young as well as old, as will be seen from the record below. In addition there comes from Oregon notice of the death of Hon. A. W. Brownell, who for many years was a prominent citizen of this county, and influential by his prolonged public service as a member of the Board of Supervisors and as Treasurer of the county for over four years. After retiring from the latter office he removed to Oregon where he purchased a fruit ranch near Salem, the state capitol. Death resulted from a heart and lung difficulty following pneumonia. Last week he was thought to be improving but death occurred on Wednesday the 12th.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born March 4, 1831 and is buried in the Salem Pioneer Cemetery in Salem, OR.
