Death of John M. Williams.
From the Syracuse (Neb.) Journal of Dec. 13th, we clip the following intelligence as to the last days of our old townsman, John M. Williams:
Mr. J. M. Williams, of the firm of C. J. Williams & Co., died suddenly on Monday evening of this week. He had been suffering from chronic Bright’s disease complicated with heart disease for some time. For the past four months he has had a great deal of neuralgia pain in the stomach and heart. A week ago last Saturday, he was at the store for the last time, and suffered a great deal of neuralgia pain at times till Friday of this week. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday, he felt free from pain and was up and dressed and was out of doors a little on Monday, after eating his supper he was suddenly siezed with a paroxysm of pain in the heart and expired sitting in the chair before a physician could reach the house. Mr. Williams in his residence here of nearly two years, has made many warm friends by his strictly honorable methods of doing business and his genial qualities of heart and mind. He will be greatly missed here. His estimable family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their sudden and great bereavement.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1826 and is buried in Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, NE.
