Death of Wm. Mullaney.
Wm. Mullaney, one of the long-time residents of Plymouth Rock, died in Cresco at the Wm. Fleming home, yesterday morning, after a short illness from blood-poisoning. He was seized last Friday with a severe pain in the hand and came to Cresco for medical treatment and returned home, but came again to Cresco on Saturday. MULLANEY.
William Mullaney was born in Chicago in 1852, coming to Iowa, at Plymouth Rock, in 1865. He was married in 1882 to Bridget Murtha. He passed away May 6th in Cresco after a few days illness and was buried the Saturday following, the funeral taking place at St. Agnes church near Plymouth Rock. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and nine children, Mary, Anna, John, Charles, George, Loretta, Gertrude, Patrick and Alice. He also leaves three brothers, John of Sioux City, Iowa, Frank of Madison, S. D., and Ed of Cresco, Iowa. Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were James Mullaney and wife of Sioux City, Iowa, Frank Mullaney and wife of Madison, S. D., John Mullaney, of Mason City, Wm. Mullaney of Ossian, Lar. Fleming of Decorah, and John and Chris. Fleming of Minneapolis.
Mr. Mullaney was a man with a host of friends who knew and respected him for his honesty and worth as a citizen, a friend and a neighbor, and who sincerely mourn his demise.
