DIED.
ANDERSON—At her home in this city on the 31st ult., after a lingering illness, MRS. ALFRED ANDERSON, aged 36 years.
Nellie Joanna Thompson, the only daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Thompson, was born in McGregor in 1860, but nearly all her life was spent in Decorah. After a happy girlhood in which she was the idol of her parents and the dearly loved sister in a family of four brothers, she married Mr. Alfred Anderson, fourteen years ago. Four children were born to them and are now left motherless.
Consumption began its stealthy but fatal work upon her in 1895, and death came to her after eighteen months of patient suffering. “None knew her but to love her.”
Funeral services were held at the United Lutheran church last Sunday afternoon, and despite the inclement weather a large company testified their sympathy with the bereaved relatives.Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in the Lutheran Decorah Cemetery shows she was born Nov. 6, 1860.
