OLE O. HAUGEN.
Ole O. Haugen, father of Peter O. Haugen and County Superintendent G. O. Haugen, died Monday morning, Dec. 19th, after a protracted illness. Mr. Haugen was born in Vestre Slidre, Valders, Norway, Nov. 26th, 1826, and grew to manhood in his native county. He was married to Miss Mary Peterson in 1849 and they came to America in 1865. They made their home for a time with his brother in Springfield township, but in 1868 bought the farm in Madison township where Mr. Haugen died. Ten children were born to them, three of whom are dead. The wife, sis; sons and one daughter survive to honor the memory of a kind husband and father. Mr. Haugen was an industrious man and earned the respect of all who knew him. The funeral services will be hold at the home to-day at noon, Rev. H. G. Stub officiating, and interment will take place in the Peter E. Haugen cemetery in Decorah township.
