The sad intelligence of the sudden death of W. P. Wingate from typhoid fever at his home in Kansas City, Sept. 14th, was received Thursday morning. His sister Julia and cousin Albert left immediately for Kansas City. The deceased was an only son of the late Henry Wingate. He leaves a wife and two daughters besides a mother and three sisters to mourn her{sic} loss. We will all miss Weston to his boyhood home, his hearty handshake and sunny smile, among us.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1858 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas. His daughter Esther died of the same disease a couple of weeks earlier.
