A Sudden Sad Death.
Miss Sarah A. Haggart died at the home of her sister, Mrs. D. B. Dennis, in this city on Thursday morning last, and Saturday night the remains were taken by Mrs. Dennis to the family home in Salem, N. Y., for burial beside her parents and other relatives
Deceased was born in Washington Co.. N. Y., where all her 66 years of life were spent, until a week before her death. For twenty-two years she had been the companion and caretaker of a widowed mother who died in February last. At the earnest persuasion of her sister she undertook the (to her) long journey to Iowa to remain for the winter, at least: and it was the fond expectation of Mrs. Dennis that the Decorah associations would prove so agreeable as to make this their joint home for life. She arrived on Friday, attended church Sunday, expressed herself as much pleased with all surroundings, but was taken sick Sunday evening with what her physician pronounced as acute pleurisy, and rapidly grew worse until death came at 11 o’clock Thursday morning.
Deceased was one of a family of eight children who grew to man and womanhood, of whom four survive. The heart-felt sympathy of all will go out to Mrs. Dennis in this sharp destruction of anticipated enjoyment in an association that would last many years.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows her name spelled Sara. She was born Jan. 12, 1833 and died Nov. 23, 1899. She is buried in the North Argyle Cemetery in North Argyle, NY
