HUNTING ACCIDENT.
Wenzel Pitzenberg a Washington township youth Killed by the Accidental discharge of a gun.
Last Sunday afternoon about four o’clock Wenzel Pitzenberg, the eleven year old son of Peter Pitzenberg, of Washington township, and Louis Duclos, Jr., aged about seventeen, were hunting a hawk they had seen, when Duclos laid down the gun and went into a corn field, enjoining Pitzenberg not to touch it. In a few minutes he heard a report and ran out to the road to find his companion dead and the gun by his side. He ran home and told his parents and the Pitzenbergs were also notified. The boy was carried home and the wound bathed but there was no question that death had been instantaneous. Monday Coroner Gibson was called to hold an inquest, and a jury composed of Geo. M. Clark, Dr. J. W. Wells and Chris Schmitt returned a verdict in accord with the facts as above given.
