Died.—At her home about two miles east of our town, in the 17th year of her age, Mary Meier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Meier. She had a hard attack of the grip and then the measles, finally terminating in pneumonia and heart trouble, which was more than her constitution could stand. It made quick work with her and death claimed her at 3:30 o’clock Friday afternoon. The funeral was held at the M. E. church, Sunday, at two o’clock, Rev. Fish officiating, assisted by Rev. Baird, the burial being made In the village cemetery, Mary had been attending the Eels-Peck Institute at Waukon this winter and was taken ill while there, her books and some of her clothing being there yet. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved parents, who will miss the oldest daughter in the family. Of the rest of the family of six children, five of them have the measles at the present writing, and Mrs. Meier is sick with the grip.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she was born in 1882 and died Feb. 18, 1899. She is buried in the Frankville Cemetery.
