STEPHEN CAROLAN.
The remains of Stephen Carolan were brought to Decorah, Tuesday, from Colorado, and taken to his old home in Bluffton township for burial, The funeral was held yesterday. Mr. Carolan is a member of one of the oldest families in Bluffton township and only recently disposed of his interest as village storekeeper and postmaster. A pulmonary difficulty, which he did not recognize as the dreaded consumption, fastened itself upon him and he sought the climate of Colorado, hoping it would prove beneficial. In fact, when his brother reached him on Friday in answer to summons that Stephen was failing, the deceased did not realize that he was at all near the end. He thought he was improving, but the end came on Sunday. Many friends will sympathize with his relatives in their affliction.
