OBITUARY.
Last Thursday afternoon, Nov. 22d, another home was made sad by the taking away of a true Christian wife and mother This time it was Mrs. Henry Gremm, living on Maple avenue, West Decorah, where they settled down a few years ago after retiring from their farm in Canoe twp. Mrs. Mary Gremm, nee Wahl, was born Dec. 1st, 1834, in Hessia, Germany. In December, 1859, she married Henry Gremm. After living some years in Canada, they moved to Canoe township, Winnesheik county, Iowa, and a few years ago moved into Decorah, to spend their old ago in ease. Six children were born to them, of whom only two survive the mother, Henry A. Gremm and Conrad Gremm
She was a true Christian; having a clean conversion shoe therefore found delight in God’s service. When her son Conrad, his wife and children, were taken down with typhoid fever several weeks ago, she went out to wait on them. Worn out by constant care she took sick with the same disease, and other complications setting in, she could not resist; and in spite of medical skill and loving care she passed away to be with her Savior and Lord whom she loved and served.
She leaves her aged husband, two sons and many relatives and friends to mourn her death. Our loss is her gain as she was prepared to meet God. Services were held in the German M. E. church in this city and the remains were taken out to their last resting place near the German M. E. church in Canoe township, Rev. W. V. Schlung officiating.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in Canoe German Methodist Cemetery shows the name as Maria.
