A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Memorials can be sent to: Jamie Neuzil, 1410 280th Ave., Fort Atkinson, IA 52144

Steven Francis Neuzil was born on October 9, 1954, the first of 9 children to Dan & Ethie Neuzil. In a big family, the first child is kind of like the first pancake. If it’s not perfect that’s ok, there are a lot more coming along.

After graduating high school at Turkey Valley, Nitty served 2 years in the US Navy, stationed in San Diego, CA. He transferred to the US Army Reserves and served with the 389th Combat Heavy Engineers.

Throughout his life Nitty worked at numerous jobs, only to support his love of the salvage industry and his own business “Nitty’s Auto Salvage”. Selling parts and crushing cars were his passion.

Nitty was a colorful character who always had a story to tell. True or not, he believed every word he said. He was always quick to crack a joke or crack a beer, usually both!

He, like his brothers after him, could quote an infinite amount of dialog from almost every movie he had ever seen. Quoting movie lines was one of his many gifts.

Nitty is survived by his wife: Diana. Parents: Dan & Ethie Neuzil. Son: Jordan Witt. Step-children: Marty, Lori, Martha, Dan and Chadd Hope. Step-grandchildren: Brianna and Dillon Hope. His brothers: Joe, Danny (Samantha) and Jamie (Penney) Neuzil. His sisters: Terri (Ed) Simon, Jeanne Loftus, Lori (Mike) Golka, Deb (Dave Owen), Kay (Todd) Caccamo and his many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Lynn, his grandparents Frank & Julia Neuzil and John & Elizabeth Blong and his nephew Rob Loftus.
