The death of the mother of the Vance Brothers, of this city, briefly mentioned last week, occurred on the evening of Wednesday, last week, at the family home in Houston, Minn., and burial took place on Friday afternoon. It was a remarkable life she had lived for almost 82 years. Sixty-two had been years of married life, in which five sons and three daughters had grown to maturity, each one acquiring such respect for up right manhood and womanhood as the Vance Brothers have won in Decorah. And hers is the first death in the family. Such instances are extremely rare. At the early age of fourteen she professed religion, and all her life she exemplified her faith.
