OBITUARY.
THOMAS W. ROBISON was born May 10th, 1854, In Knox county, Ohio, and came to Iowa at the age of 17 years. He was married to Miss Hannah Louise Bowman, Feb. 13th, 1877, and died Jan. 8th, 1900, leaving a wife and five children to mourn his loss.
Deceased was a man of moral integrity, a member of the M. E. church, an upright citizen, a kind neighbor and a faithful friend. His last sickness was of very brief duration. On Thursday evening he attended religious services at the M. E. church, went home and complained of not feeling very well, but retired as usual. He awaked the next morning without feeling any better but thought nothing serious ailed him. On Saturday night the doctor was called, who pronounced the disease cerebro spinal meningitis, and in spite of the best efforts of the kindest of friends and a faithful physician, he departed this life.
The funeral services were held under the direction of Burr Oak Lodge, I. O. O. F. of which the deceased was a member, and was attended by the Woodmen and Yeomen lodges to which the deceased belonged. Rev. Cummings preached the funeral sermon from Luke 12:40. A crowded house at the funeral services testified by their presence, as to their sympathy with the bereaved family, and their loss of a faithful friend.Source: Decorah Republican Jan. 11, 1900 P 6 C 3
