Marlene L. Adam, 87, of Decorah, Iowa died Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Aase Haugen Senior Services in Decorah, Iowa. Marlene was born November 5, 1932 to Richard and Julana (Bray) McNally in the Decorah area. She received her education from country schools in the Postville area through the 8th grade.

Marlene was united in marriage with Reuben Adam. Three children were born to this union; Delores, Rose, and Marty. She worked different jobs, but was primarily a housekeeper and a caregiver. Marlene valued spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed being able to babysit her grandchildren and great nieces and nephews, in addition to the kids of friends. She was always known to be a practical joker.Her many hobbies include: jigsaw puzzles, drawing, baking, gardening, walking in her later years, socializing at the local bakery, and listening to the Toe Tappers while waltzing with her husband Reuben.

Surviving Marlene is her children, Delores (David) Grant of Marshalltown, Iowa, Rose (Elmer) Hansen of Decorah, Iowa, and Marty (Diane Romie) Adam of Caledonia, Minnesota; Grandchildren, Holly Dripps, Marie Hunt, Shaina Kruger, Marty Jr. Adam, Kandi Adam, Peter Hansen, and Brittney Hansen; Sisters, Beaulah Fadness and Flora Engelhardt. Marlene is also survived by her many Great and Great-Great Grandchildren.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Adam; her sisters, Marlys Kleppe, Gloria Duval, Fronzie Busby, Dorothy McNally; her brothers, John and Milton McNally; her parents, Richard and Julana McNally.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Postville, Iowa is assisting the family.
