Sudden Death at Ossian.
On Friday last at Ossian John Webster, brother of Mrs. R. B, Tuttle, of this city, died from a stroke of paralysis, Mr. Webster will be remembered as an old resident of Winnesheik county. For the past four years he and his wife have been residing with their children in California, and they had but recently returned, with the expectation of spending the winter in Chicago. News of his death was received with pained surprise by relatives and friends in Decorah, because he had been here but two days previous. Mr. Webster was born May 8, 1830, in New York state. His wife was Miss Mary Califf, who, with five children, survive him. They are Mrs. Lima Bullard, Evelyn and Charles Webster, all of Rosalia, Wash., Mrs. Iola Schoonmaker, of Chicago, and George Webster, of Ossian.

Transcribe’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Centennial Cemetery and died Nov. 29, 1901.
