OBITUARY.

Philomelia Hawkins was born in St. Lawrence Co., New York, Apr. 18th, 1833. At the age of sixteen years she removed with her parents to Illinois and settled near Antioch, Lake Co. She was married at Salem, Kenosha Co., Wis., to Alfred Little on the 5th of January, 1853. Eleven years later she with her husband and family came to Burr Oak, in this county, where they lived until 1888, when they moved to Minnesota and settled in Minneiska. She died in the triumph of a firm trust in Jesus as her personal Saviour at her home in Minneiska, October 27, last, her husband having preceeded her to the Gloryland by seven years.
She was the mother of five children, three son’s and two daughters all of whom survive to mourn her loss, and these have the sympathy of the entire community in this their sad bereavement.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Wabasha County, MN and shows her name spelled Philomela.

Every few weeks we have to record the death of some old resident. This time it is Mrs. Alf. Little, who died last week at Minneiska, Minn., which has been her home for the past fifteen years.
