Mrs. D. E. Harvey died at her home Saturday, July 20th, after an illness of but a few days. One day last week she went into the garden to dig some potatoes for dinner and was overcome by heat, rendering her unconscious, in which condition she remained most of the time until death. Miss Jane Elizabeth Cooper was born near Mansfield, Ohio, March 18th, 1841, and moved with her parents to Iowa in 1857, where she has since lived. She was married to D. E. Harvey Dec. 7, 1863, and was a mother of seven children. She lived to see all married and established in homes of their own. All the children and fifteen grandchildren survive her. The funeral was held from the U. B. church here, Monday at 11 A. M., Rev. Ross officiating. The church was filled to its capacity with neighbors and friends who came to pay their last respects to the dead. The family of the deceased surely have the hearty sympathies of the entire community in their sore affliction. Thus one by one the old pioneers pass to the great beyond, and their places will be {?)ed by the rising generation. The {?}nds of the deceased wish to thank {?} who so kindly assisted during her sickness.
