On the 1st, B. M. White received a telegram from Atlantic, Iowa, telling of the dangerous illness of his brother, C. E. White, and he took the first train from Decorah for Atlantic. A telegram received since he went stated that the brother died on Sunday evening, so it is doubtful if he reached there in time to see his brother alive. The deceased was for many years a resident of Hesper, and his many friends extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.

We have to record the death of another of our old residents, that of Chester White, who for a number of years has lived in the vicinity of Atlantic City.

Transcriber's Note: Find a Grave shows a C. E. White buried in the Atlantic Cemetery but shows the first name of Charles. He was born Sept. 19, 1845 and died June 3, 1901.
