Mrs. Rachael Hutchinson died on the evening of the 23d, aged eighty-three years. Mrs. Geo. Cutting, of La Crosse, one of the daughters of Mrs. Hutchinson, was at the bedside of her mother when she passed away.

Mrs. Rachel Pike Hutchinson whose death on the 23d of April was briefly noticed in Hesper Happenings, was born Feb. 6th, 1818, was married to James Hutchinson in 1838, and after living in Michigan and Indiana for several years came to Iowa n 1854. Mr. Hutchinson died in 1883. To them were born three sons and two daughters, all of whom are living, viz: W. C., of Hesper, J G., of Tunnel City, Wis., Mrs. Fred Allen, of Austin, Minn., John, of Sioux Falls, S D., and Mrs. Geo. Cutting, of La Crosse, Wis. Mrs. Hutchinson was of a family of fourteen children, only two of whom are living—C. B. Pike, of Hesper, and Abram Pike, of Michigan. Aunt Rachel always had a pleasant word with all whom she chanced to meet and her cherry smile and kind greeting will be missed by a large circle of friends. The funeral services were held at the Friend’s church on the 25th, Dr. Philip Slack officiating
