Death of John Stortz, Jr.
The death on Saturday last of John Stortz, Jr., who lived on the old Coogan place, northeast of town, makes the seventh death from typhoid fever in that neighborhood since last fall. Mr. Stortz was a son of the late Ferdinand Stortz, who died of the same disease. He was a hard working, industrious man who was respected as a good citizen and kind neighbor. He leaves a wife and several children besides many relatives to mourn his death. The funeral was held Monday last.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in St. Benedict Cemetery and was born May 1854 and died March 28, 1901.
