Death at Burr Oak.
Grace Pierce, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Pierce, of Burr Oak, died Tuesday morning from appendicitis and was buried yesterday. The child was ill about a week, and on Monday appeared to be better, but later alarming symptoms showed themselves and she grew worse steadily.

Grace M. Peirce, the oldest daughter of Mark and Jennie Peirce, was born July 31, 1887, died Jan. 28, 1901, making her 13 years, 5 months and 28 days old at the time of her death. She leaves a father and mother, four sisters and two brothers, besides a large circle of friends to mourn her death. Grace was of a loving, cheerful disposition, bright in her classes, and apparently a very healthy girl up to a week before her death.
Services were held at the M. E. church at Burr Oak, Rev. Thompson officiating. E.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she is buried in the Burr Oak Cemetery. Her last name is spelled two different ways but her gravestone shows Pierce.
