JOHN LEE WEBSTER,
John Lee Webster died Nov. 17, 1902, at his home two miles west of Frankville, where he has lived for nineteen years, at the age of 73. He was born in Ripley county, Ind., Aug. 19, 1829, and was married to Sarah Jane Warman. To this union seven children were born, six of whom are still living, the other dying in infancy and the mother giving up her live{sic} at the same time. He was married again Nov. 27, 1873, to Miss Jane Letchford, of Frankville, to whom three other children were born. Mr. Webster had been in poor health for years. He had an operation performed for Bright’s disease about seventeen years ago and has been in a delicate condition ever since, although able to be about until three weeks before his death when a complication of diseases set in and rapidly hastened the end. His wife and children, Mrs. Allie Lennon of Decorah, Charley of Ocheyedan, George and Mrs. Dell Flagler of Lime Springs, Mrs. Kate Killian of Monona, John of Worthington, Minn., Mrs. Emma Barwell of Tacoma, Wash., Tom, of Waukon, Henrv of Pinchville, and Kelse at home, are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father. One brother and two sisters also survive him. Thus passes away another of our old and most respected citizens, one worthy of remembrance. The funeral services were held yesterday at the Centennial church, conducted by Rev. M. Willett of Decorah, with burial at the same place in charge of the Masonic fraternity.
