On Wednesday of last week at his home in this city Peder,T. Twenge, one of the pioneers of Winneshiek county, died from heart trouble. Mr. Twenge was born in Valders, Norway, Nov. 25, 1828, coming to America in 1851. After a residence of two years in Wisconsin he cane to Winneshiek county and has since resided here. On Oct. 13, 1858, he was married to Miss Sigre Tostenson Kjos. To them four children were born, three of whom survive. They are Mrs. Kodvang of Nordness and Tollef and Tosten Twenge of Decorah. The funeral was held last Sunday, Rev. I. B. Torreson officiating, and the remains were interred In the Lutheran cemetery.
