Billy Einwalter, age 85, of Fort Atkinson, Iowa died on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at the Gundersen Palmer Lutheran Hospital in West Union, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2020 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, IA with Rev. Aaron Junge officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be after 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the church.

Bill was born February 6, 1934, son of William Edward and Emily Mildred (Doubek) Einwalter. He completed his education from Fort Atkinson Public School, graduating in 1952. He is an ARMY veteran, serving his country from 1956 to 1958 in the Korean conflict. He then returned home to work on the family farm. Bill and his younger brother James founded Einwalter Brothers (LLC) where they farm and reside.
Bill was a lifelong member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Fort Atkinson, serving as an usher and a member of the local VFW. He was an avid card player and enjoyed spending time with his family. Bill looked forward to any visitors that stopped by the farm for conversation, a quick meal, or a game of cards. He is remembered by his family for his kindness, service to others and his reassuring smile.

Bill is survived by his sister Lois Einwalter, Ft. Atkinson, brothers James Einwalter, and Duane (Phyllis) Einwalter, also of Ft. Atkinson. Nieces and Nephews; Darin (Sue) Einwalter, Ft. Atkinson; John (Tina) Einwalter, Manchester, MO; Robert (Anna) Einwalter, McLean, VA; Cheryl (Dave) Lambert, Denver, CO; Emily Einwalter, Minneapolis, MN; Eric (Jennessa) Einwalter, Solon, IA. Great nieces and nephews: Toril, Josie (Ethan Zuercher), William, Addyson, Morgan, Ethan, Katlin Einwalter, Tristen Lambert, Owen, Simon, Ella, Miles Einwalter.

Bill was preceded in death by; his parents, grandparents William and Jesse (Blunt) Einwalter, James and Louise (Jarosh) Doubek, Aunts Lou Einwalter, Frank and Edna (Einwalter) Krall, Uncle William (Celia) Doubek, and a great nephew, Calen Lambert.
