A copy of the Gazette, printed at Geyserville, Cal., brings us news of the death of Mrs. M. Larkin. The event took place Oct. 2d, at an age of 63 years and about 2 months. Her long residence in this city is well known and need not be detailed. The later particulars are told by the Gazette in this paragraph:—
Three years ago Mrs. Larkin became a paralytic and suffered much from epilepsy, both of which brought about her death. She was first stricken with partial paralysis at her home in Decorah, Iowa, and epilepsy followed. Recovering somewhat, she came to San Francisco. thinking to be improved by California climate. A few months after her arrival she sustained a second stroke of partial paralysis, epilepsy also following. Her life was dispaired of for months. She finally rallied sufficiently to be moved to a warmer climate, in the vicinity of Geyserville, but was not capable of leaving her bed. On Monday, September 30th, epilepsy again set in, and complete paralysis resulted. Two days afterward death came as a relief to the poor, tired, afflicted body. Her son and daughter of San Francisco were at her side during the last days or her suffering and watched the candle of life flicker and die away. Mrs. Geo. Lewis of San Francisco, an intimate friend in her Iowa home attended the funeral.
