The friends of C. Skinner were greatly shocked last Friday to hear of the death of his son Frank at Waukon, where he had been for about two weeks on a visit to his sister, Mrs. Sevoy. On Friday he went to assist Mr. Sevoy to get a load of hay and on the way home the wagon reach broke and Frank got under the load to fix it when the horses started and it came down on him, crushing the life out of him before assistance could be obtained. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community. The funeral was held in the M. E. church in this place on Sunday, Rev. Allen of Decorah officiating.
Those from a distance who attended the funeral of Frank Skinner Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Sevoy of Waukon and Mrs. Marietta and Mrs. Brown of Chicago.
