Died at Grinnell.
After an illness of three weeks from typhoid fever, Miss Clara B. Hard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Holcomb, died on Saturday last at Grinnell. Miss Hard was born in Decorah August 14, 1868 and her home has always remained here. In early girlhood she was converted and joined the M. E. church. Somewhat over a year ago she became interested in Salvation Army work, and in the spring of 1901 entered the training home at Chicago, passed with credit and was commissioned lieutenant in June. For a time she was stationed at Burlington assisting in the work, afterwards being placed in charge of the work at Grinnell - where she labored until the Lord took her to himself. The remains were brought to Decorah last Monday and the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, Rev. K. W. Robbins officiating, assisted by Rev M. Willett and Capt. Cunningham of Waterloo.Transcriber’s Note: Iowa Gravestone Photos show she is buried in Phelps Cemetery.
