Patrick Powers, Sr., a resident of Ossian for the last eight years, died Tuesday night after an illness of two months. Mr. Powers will be remembered amongst the great number of people as one of the early settlers. He was 74 years of age and was well aware that he was near the end. The sympathy of the whole community are with his mourners.

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone in St. Francis de Sales shows he was born in 1830.
