OBITUARIES.
BALLENTINE.
It is rare that a death announcement creates a greater shock to a community than the dread news that Frank Ballentine had passed away at the parental home in Prosper. But a few days ago he seemed in radiant health and strength, though disease had laid its heavy weight of care upon him. He was so cheerful and happy by nature, the loved ones could scarcely realize how serious was his condition until the final hour drew near. Throughout his illness Frank bore all the suffering without a murmur. He was a hero fighting a great battle but was finally overcome. Too much cannot be said of Frank as a boy. He was always the soul of honor, always ready to help the weaker one and always loathe to injure any one. The cause of his death was appendicitis.
Frank J. Ballentine was born in Mabel, Minn. Oct. 7, 1888, and passed away Saturday, Jan. 18. He passed the greater part of his life in Prosper where he attended school. The funeral was held at the Proper church, Rev. Seeds officiating. Many friends and relatives were present. There were some beautiful Moral offerings. The deceased was interred in the Burr Oak cemetary on Monday afternoon. The sorrowing hearts of all his friends seem unconsolable but we can be comforted with the beautiful Christian hymn of faith.Transcriber’s Note: The last name is spelled two different ways but his gravestone photo shows Ballentine.
