Earl Gordon Knoke, born Dec. 27, 1927, in rural Winneshiek Country, passed away Dec. 15, 2019, at Wellington Assisted Living. Services for Earl were Thursday, Dec. 19, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Decorah. Burial of Earl and Maran will be at Locust Cemetery in the spring.

He was baptized, confirmed and married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Decorah. He married Marian Holkesvik Oct. 1, 1950. They had three children: Daryl, Rhonda, and Karla.

Earl lived on the family farm from birth and took over farming when his parents retired and moved to town. Upon his retirement he and Marian built a new home within the Decorah city limits. Shortly after Marian passed away six months ago he moved into Wellington Assisted Living.

Earl enjoyed helping Marian with the ceramics shop and was also a talented woodworker, making many gifts for people in the area. One of his favorite past-times was his love of cards (which helped supplement his income). He also enjoyed fishing in his younger years, taking family to northern Minnesota multiple times. He and Marian enjoyed wintering in Arizona and Texas.

He is survived by son Daryl (Sherri) Knoke of Decorah, and Karla (Jason) Paciorek of Cannon Falls, Minn.; brother Norman (Sandy) Knoke of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; four grandchildren: Jason (Jordan) Knoke of Decorah, Michael Knoke of Tiffin, Jenna (Alex) Sandoe of Litchfield, Minn., Collin Sandoe of Minneapolis, Minn.; as well as one great-granddaughter, Harriet Sandoe; and one great grandson to be born this coming March.

Earl was preceded in death by wife, Marian; daughter, Rhonda Knoke Keating; and parents, Ernest and Gladys Knoke.

Rest in peace, dad; enjoy your birthday with mom and Rhonda.
