Homer Neff Wounds Emmet Sullivan, Kills Miss Rose Falb and Commits Suicide.
West Union experienced a tragedy on Sunday night last which was one of the most shocking in her history. Homer Neff, once clerk of the courts of Fayette county but up to his death one of the proprietors of the electric light plant, shot Emmet Sullivan in the face, inflicting a painful but not serious wound. He then turned upon Rose Falb, shooting her twice in the head and once in the breast. He then fled to his room, locked himself in and shot himself in the brain, dying instantly. Miss Falb died at midnight. Neff was about forty-five years old and had been keeping company with the young lady for a number of years. Jealousy is supposed to have caused the rash act.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in the West Union Cemetery. He was born March 6, 1856 and died January 5, 1902. See further obituary at http://iagenweb.org/boards/fayette/obituaries/index.cgi?read=463605
