—Henry Klein was called home from Montana by the death of his father, arriving Sunday morning.

HENRY KLAIN,{sp} Sr.
Henry Klein, Sr., who came to Decorah in 1869 to make his home, died at Freeport last Thursday, December 26, after an illness of several years which terminated in congestion of the lungs. Mr. Klein was a native of Germany, being born at Bonn, June 9, 1848. He came to America with his parents at the age of five, and grew to manhood at Guttenberg, Clayton County. In 1873 he was married to Miss Anna Miller, who, with five children, two brothers and one sister, survive him. The children are Mrs. J. E.. Lappen, E{?}a, Lulu, Henry and Peter. For several years the family has lived at Trout Run and Freeport, Mr. K. conducting a restaurant in the former place. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Unity church in this city and was largely attended.

Transcriber’s Note: His name is spelled two different ways. His gravestone shows Klein and that he is buried in Phelps Cemetery. His gravestone indicates his date of death as Dec. 27.
