Donna Lea Ripple (nee Morehead) of Decorah passed away quietly Nov. 6, 2019.

Born July 15, 1939, in Maquoketa, she was married 63 years to James Ripple.

Donna volunteered locally with the Butterfly Garden and maintaining the grounds at the Porter House. Prior to retirement, she was a cook at Eastern Star.

She was an avid gardener, bird watcher and reader. She instilled a love of the outdoors in her children and a spirit of environmental awareness in her grandchildren.

She is survived by husband Jim and children: Elizabeth (Kevin) Smith, Peggy Thompson, Sally Ripple and Andrew Ripple (Debbie). Grandchildren are Jimmy Thompson, Kayla Ripple, Dan Thompson, Nolan (Hayley) Ripple and Emily Ripple.
