Audrey Herrmann

Audrey O. Rekward Marcy Herrmann, 90, of Bickford Cottage died Monday, May 5, 2008 at Willow Gardens after a short illness. Private family services were held. Internment at the Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Audrey was born Jan. 27, 1918 in Winneshiek County, the daughter of Lewis and Zoa Russell Rekward. She married Virgil Marcy Nov. 21, 1946. He died in 1973. She then married Eldon O. Herrmann July 26, 1975 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1996. Audrey worked in the Rockwell-Collins Cafeteria for several years, retiring in 1974. She enjoyed weaving and especially time spent with her beloved family. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or Mercy Hospice in Audrey’s name. Survivors include three daughters, Jewel (Mac) McNamee of Ft. Collins, Colo., Ginger (Mike) Jordan of Marion and Virjean (Robert) Dotson of Cedar Rapids; a step-daughter, Christine (Lloyd) Beasley of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, John Rekward of Decorah, Walter Rekward of Davenport and Merlin Rekward of McAllen, Texas. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rocky Marcy; a daughter, Marcene Carsner; one brother and one sister.
