Pamela J. Gipp, age 65, of Decorah, IA, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 at home in Decorah.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Decorah Lutheran Church with Rev. Allen Vik officiating. Inurnment will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 23 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m., one hour before the service, at Decorah Lutheran Church.

Pamela Jean (Spencer) Gipp was born on February 3, 1954 in Waukegan, Illinois, the oldest child of Herman and Patricia (Cronin) Graham. She attended St. Benedict Catholic School through the Eighth grade, and then Decorah High School. Then later in life she received her GED.

Pam was united in marriage to Michael Dietz in February 1971 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. To this union three daughters were born: Mary, Cindy and Sarah.

Pam worked at Rockwell Collins, then she and Mike opened their store Pet Paradise, and then she bartended at the VFW Post and the Silver Dollar. Pam and Mike divorced. While working at the VFW Post, she starting dating Jim Gipp. They were married in Kauai, Hawaii on November 16, 1991. Jim and Mike became the “proud grandpas" to 8 grandchildren. She started her new life on the farm with Jim. Pam went to school for massage therapy and ran her business out of her house, and later quilted as a business. She enjoyed gardening, walking, hiking trails at Phelps Park and other parks in the area, playing in the Cut with her girls, and biking. She was a generous person and would do anything for anyone and was a caregiver for her family. Pam was very adventurous, an adrenaline junkie. She liked skydiving, ziplining, riding her motorcycle, rollercoasters, cross-country skiing, playing racquetball, and she loved to travel and go on cruises.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Jim on July 12, 2019.

Pam is survived by her three children and eight grandchildren: Mary (Gene) Weigert, Samantha and Fletcher, Cindy (Gregg) Dietz, Zachary, Sean and Kyle; Sarah (Jeremy) Cook, Madison, Ezekiel, Brody and Autumn; one brother, David (Deborah) Loftsgard of Gunder, Iowa; two sisters, Susan (Ross) Folkers of Humboldt, Iowa and Vickie Stevens of Onalaska, Wisconsin; and four brothers-in-law: John (Karen) Gipp, Gerald (Elaine) Gipp, and Charles (Ranae) Gipp, all of Decorah and Dean Gipp of Bettendorf, Iowa.
